St. Francis Rangers Program
The St. Francis Rangers Program helps children build increased confidence and self esteem through Equestrian Education. This program provides hands-on experience for disadvantaged children in our community as they learn to ride and care for horses. Participation in the program gives the children a greater appreciation for the ecology, environment, fellowship, and discipline of a productive life, while teaching them compassion and respect for all of God's creatures, large and small.
Casa Pacifica Equestrian Education Program
The Hogan Family Foundation participates in a joint effort with Casa Pacifica to help children in crisis cope with difficult circumstances. Casa Pacifica is a residential facility for abused, neglected and at-risk children. The children participate in an eight-week program that teaches them basic horse care and handling, as well as, beginning riding lessons that provide them with the foundation skills of good horsemanship. The program allows the children to bond with the horses, providing both a healing and learning experience.
15 Hands Rescue Sanctuary
The 15 Hands Rescue Sanctuary is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of abandoned, injured and neglected horses. Horses accepted into the program are evaluated by a veterinarian and receive proper medical care and treatment to restore health and provide rehabilitation for any injuries. Once these rescued horses are healthy again, they are either moved to our riding program or made available for adoption. The Sanctuary is also home to our senior horses that can no longer be ridden or have little chance of adoption due to medical or other issues. These retired horses have a beautiful place where they can live out the rest of their days and enjoy quality care and attention from our dedicated staff. |
